So, the orange-haired sage of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue has declared that he thinks that Boris Johnson would make a fine prime minister.
As an off-the-cuff comment by a man renowned for his inability to keep his opinions to himself it comes as no surprise. But since it has been made just three days before he embarks on a state visit to the United Kingdom and a week before the incumbent prime minister formally commences the process by which she steps down from that position, it does appear that he is interfering with matters not of his concern. It would be wonderful if the government of the United Kingdom could show that it had some backbone and cancel his visit.
When Charles de Gaulle announced during a speech in Canada "Vive le Quebec libre" he was on the plane back to Paris before you could say "Jacques Robinson".

Trump and Boris seem to be out of the same mould where telling porkies and their right-wing agenda is concerned. >:(

Do you think the endorsement has aided Johnson's chance or put the kiss of death upon it?

Ekim
That thought has occurred to me. As has also the mental image of Mr Johnson, dressed in grey in a shirt decorated with broad arrows, with a big mallet breaking up rocks somewhere on Dartmoor.
One can live in hope ...

Given that most of the voters in the Conservative leadership election are right wing reactionaries who are out of touch with the 21st century, I would think it has aided Johnson.

The latter one would hope.
