Isn't 24 carat softer metal and could be in danger of being blown out into another shape?
I was only wondering?

If I win the lottery, I'll buy the gold khazi off whoever half inched it.

Well, the fact that it has quite a substantial quantity of gold in it springs to mind.
I assume it's not solid gold though.

Well that is why it was stolen no doubt. However I was querying why the original owner of the loo had it constructed in gold in the first place? Surely if one wished to something made of gold most people would consider a loo rather yucky.

Apparently, the police still h ave nothing to go on.

Why? I think it was - worth about £5m.

The artist behind the solid gold toilet which was stolen from Winston Churchill's former home has asked the thieves to let him know "how it feels to pee on gold".
The 18-carat toilet, worth around £4.8m, is an art piece called America and was kept at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire.

+ a nice video of the loo in action. I'm beginning to appreciate it ... :)

It's supposed to be a work of art, and a temporary installation. I'm sure the Duke of Marlborough, being old money, would not have anything so vulgar as a gold bog normally.

Now, there's just a great big hole. Police are looking into it.

That amount of solid gold would be extraordinarily heavy.

Oh dear, there seems to be a lot of crap puns and toilet humour going down on this thread.

The criminals who stole it are flushed with their success.
