Good summary of the current strains on NATO - I think Macron is right that the money question while used significantly by Trump isn't the crucial one - it's not clear what NATO is now for.

Nato is one year older than little me, in other words ANCIENT. I wonder if it is still fit for purpose, the French president doesn't think so.

"Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said he will oppose Nato's plan for the defence of the Baltic region if it does not back Turkey over its fight against Kurdish groups it considers terrorists." - which sort of illustrates the problem.
