The figures for the NI health service are shocking. The parties in NI need to sort themselves out

"As 15,000 nurses in Northern Ireland go on strike over patient safety, No 10 says that when they return to work it counts as 15,000 new nurses."

I am so glad no nurses were on strike today at our local Welsh hospital. Our DS son (34) was taken to hospital by ambulance from his care home early this morning as he had a suspected seizure, something he has never experienced before. They ran quite a number of tests as he has lost quite a lot of weight and is having difficulty passing urine. He hasn't got an infection and his blood test came back clear too. He has been discharged and will need to see his GP, it is possible he might have an enlarged prostate. He seemed quite chirpy when I spoke to him on the phone late this afternoon. I will check on him again in the morning.

Thoughts are with him and your family, LR.

Thank you. :) Our son saw his GP today, they have done a couple more blood tests to check out a couple more things. However, the staff at the care home say he seems to be back to his normal self again and has gone to his band practise this afternoon.

Well, given the little nugget in the Tory speeches today about classifying the rail services as protected to prevent strikes that would affect them, I wonder how long before medical staff get the same one-sided deal the police and fire services get on their right to strike?
O.

You can't beat a bit of band practice 😜

I'm so pleased your son is on the mend LR, must've been worrying for you and rest of family & now you can cautiously breath sigh of relief. I hope he continues to be well. Odd things happen with health sometimes, not always explainable. Agree with Walter about band practice & fact he was keen to do it shows he feels much better. Excellent!

Thanks Robbie. I spoke to him this morning, he was just about to go to Taekwondo so he must be feeling a lot better. We will see him on Christmas Day, and again on Boxing Day when he accompanies us to our eldest and youngest girls' homes.
