I thought this had something to do with Cub Scouts when I saw the thread title, but that's "Akela". I was a cub for a few years in my earlier childhood, and thought that "Akela", the pack leader, was "our kela", as opposed to another pack's leader, who would be "their kela".

I too thought it was going to be about Akela.

However, thank you NS, from the bottom of my heart, I'm sure I will love it.

(Does anyone remember The Simpsons doing the Odyssey? Here's some of it:-

i can understand that but would recommend this

I might watch it when I've got time. I did, years ago, try reading Chapman's Homer, but it signally failed to make me feel like stout Cortez when, with eagle eyes, he star'd at the Pacific; in short, it bored the arse off me. If I was interested in a bunch of over-testosteroned yobs kicking the shit out of each other over a woman in the Mediterranean, I'd go on a cheap package holiday to Benidorm.

Did watch, it was good - more with regard to Akala than insight into Homer though.
