Asterix loomed large in my French lessons at school in the 1960's - our French teacher, the wonderfully named Mr Luxembourg, who was a continental chappie, was a fan: I've fond memories of him, since he was round and jolly and his lessons were great fun, and he introduced us to Asterix.

I went to the Asterix theme park in France a few years back - also great fun.
