Title: Britain's Greatest Comedy Character...
Post by: Nearly Sane on May 02, 2020, 04:54:20 PM
Alf Garnett seems the most obvious omission, though also for me Bernard Black

Good point!  ;D However, BSM Williams was the bloke who christened him that, and was the main comic character in the show.

I understand that, but just occasionally the show has left me laughing uncontrollably.

I know I'm not supposed to admit that.

I’ve never met anybody who likes Mrs Brown’s Boys.

They've gone for just one character per show - but there are quite a few where more than one character could have been included. (e.g. most of Dad's Army). I also think Uncle Bryn deserves a mention even if Nessa is the most obvious (but least subtle) comedy character from G&S.
