Humanist straw clutching.
The Lord of the Flies involved Public school boys taking control of an island and the population being killed horribly because of said public schoolboys. Now tell me that's not real.

William Golding in the response section to this article comes in for a bit of stick but I feel most of it ignores the fact that it is an allegory for the world as whole and as climate change shows us quite a good one.
