That would be a shame.

Perhaps the BBC could divert some of the programming on BBC4 to the 2 main channels to reduce the endless baking/cooking/property programmes that litter their schedules instead of losing the content all together. It would, to me at least, be a vast improvement.

Yes, if the same sort of programming is done but appears on BBC2 that would be ok. But all of this may become moot dependent on the overall change in broadcasting.
