Title: A.I.colorisations on you tube.
Post by: Walt Zingmatilder on May 30, 2020, 05:10:04 PM
The youtube channel TCC cinema have started showing old black and white films that have been colorised by A.I. Colorisation has been hit and miss prior to A.I. but some of the 30's and 40's films are startling. Another A.I. colorist channel has put on Keaton's The General in A.I. colour and it is very watchable and natural.

Fine, as long as the original b&w versions remain avaiable. I once had a few Laurel and Hardy colourised films on DVD, but would much have preferred the original b&w. However, the colourising was a bit crude on them, a bit like those old coloured photos on old postcards that were originally black and white, but were coloured by hand and then reproduced, that you used to see.
