I would have liked to have swum with sharks and also done a parachute jump.
My children were going to pay for me to swim with sharks at an aquarium, not too far from here, for my 60th birthday ten years ago, but I had to have a medical certificate first. I have a problem with my left ear due to untreated ear infections as a kid, I was advised it was very unwise to do so.
I never had the opportunity to do a parachute jump in the past, I think it unwise to sign up for one now as my arthritis is getting worse.

I regret not moving abroad to work - I have had a couple of 6 months stints when I worked in Europe and even then I was travelling back each weekend. but I'd have liked to do longer stints. A previous relationship put paid to that - though I hold no grudge about it.
I once had the opportunity along with my 5 dining companions to buy and drink a dessert wine that was pre French Revolution. They weren't as keen as I so we didn't get it (it wasn't cheap). But looking back I should just have gone for it.
I also liked a couple of paintings by a now very well known artist that would have cost me a couple of months salary. Had I bought them I would have had them to enjoy and they are now worth enough that I could retire easily.

That's the first idea that crossed my mind when I saw this thread.

I think they were the wise ones. It would likely have been completely undrinkable at that age.

Yep, in all likelihood it would have but for the price of a couple of shirts each we would have had a fabulous story and a one off experience.

I should have ridden in an amateur riders horse race (at Hamilton) back in the day - the opportunity was there if I wanted to prepare for it but I didn't put in the effort, and I should have.

Not regrets as such but when I was young I did intend to work abroad for a while. I envisaged myself at 22 jetting off on an adventure for a year gaining invaluable experience :-). Other things intervened and I didn't. Though it's an unfulfilled ambition I Can't say it has ever bothered me. I'm glad my eldest took the opportunity to work in New York for a year,' she really enoyed it & we enjoyed going out there to spend a few days with her.

I wish I had knuckled down a bit more at school. Maybe I could have got a job I like doing. But then I'd probably be no good at snooker.

I have often rather wished that I had burned down my boarding school but the consequences might have been even worse than the damage left by the school itself, so perhaps it's as well I didn't.

I wish I had been able to report to the police the inappropriate way I had been touched on several occasions, at the age of 14, by the pastor of the pentecostal church I attended. However, I doubt I would have been taken seriously, even my parents didn't give it credence! :o

Well, that's one thing which I have done - three times. But I do wish I had learned to play a musical instrument.

I did play drums in the Band of my A T C Squadron - I tried to learn the piano/organ but I gave up when my son, who was trying to teach me threatened to set fire to the rather expensive instrument that we had bought him if I ever touched it again! According to him, the only sound I ever achieved was that of a cat having its guts pulled out of it's arse without the benefit of anaesthesia!

Not married my late wife. I loved her dearly until the day she died last year, but we were hopelessly mis-matched, which is why we divorced after 15 years. It was a pity we ever met - but I will always love her.

As a kid I wish I had been permitted to turn my back on the awful god myth which spoilt childhood.
