Title: Russia report: UK considers tougher security laws after criticism by MPs

As so many times with such reports, the first thing that happens is spinning it to say what you want it to say. I suppose I will have to read the damn thing.

Certainly Grant Shapps was attempting to do that this morning on TV. Don't think he's quite got the hang of it yet, though.

This is one of those things like the question on US visa waiver forms that says "are you a terrorist?".

That reminds me of the wartime challenge:  Halt!  Who goes there?  Friend or Foe?  I couldn't imagine anybody replying 'Foe' without pulling the trigger of their gun first.
