Title: The King of Stupid
Post by: jeremyp on August 14, 2020, 03:24:42 PM
There is a Facebook Group whose raison d'être is to post pictures of members with loaded guns pointed at their genitals (whilst fully clothed).

The inevitable has happened (https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/y3zeew/gun-enthusiasts-celebrate-man-who-shot-himself-in-the-balls-as-their-king).

That group are sick in the head! ;D

I am so very glad I ditched my FB account two or three years ago, not that I ever made much use of it anyway.

Why on earth should you leave facebook because there are idiots on it? There are also nice people and excellent groups.

Agree. It's mainly for my actual friends to keep in touch but lots of good groups covering every range of interest.

Not my scene. I didn't want to connect with people in that way.

Agree with NS and Steve. It can be irritating at times but it is also very, very useful for staying in touch with family and friends in far flung places and sharing photos and the like with them.*

*Other platforms are available.

I keep in touch with my family and friends by phone and e-mail.

It isn't Facebook that made them stupid.

I never said it was FB that made them stupid.

That was the implication when you said "I am so very glad I ditched my FB account two or three years ago".

I don't do Face book;', majority of my friends and family are not far away so I see them often, those further afield I do see but less often & obvs not this year. we email and talk on phone. I don't like the idea of putting personal stuff on internet but not paranoid about it. Just not my scene. I can imagine I'd be spending so much time on the internet if I had face book & be neglecting other stuff. Neither do I tweet, am I sad?

That is the way you read it. I ditched FB because of the problems there were with it at the time, like one's personal information being hacked etc.

I think that makes you very sensible. I do tweet, from time to time, but don't use my given name.

This is a thread about a man who shot himself in the testicles, not a Facebook hate thread.

At least it was until you posted.

Apart from calling those bloke STUPID, I don't think there is much more one could say about them, so it would be a very short thread indeed. You should thank me. ;D ;D ;D

I hope the poor bloke recovers, I read the bullet went in and out so at least the surgeons didn't have to rake around for it  :-\. He'll probably be OK but of course it was a stupid thing to do (not something he'll do again in a hurry).

I heard once of a bloke who got shot in the head, the bullet going in just above one temple, behind the eye, and out above the other temple. Apart from losing the sight of one eye, because the optic nerve was severed, he made a full recovery.
