If we are living in a simulation, then whoever set it up is effectively God.

The idea is just another route to the usual infinite regression...

As an (apparently) concious entity I have to deal with the universe of my experience: Anything "outside" of that, is total speculation and not determinable or even subject to logic - no matter how interesting, enjoyable or horrible those thoughts/ideas/beliefs may be.
