Title: Virginity tests in the UK
Post by: Stranger on December 16, 2020, 12:28:58 PM
What the actual fuck?! How is this allowed in the UK in the 21st century and why isn't the government supporting the ban?

Virginity testing ban proposed by Richard Holden MP (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-55324237)

I had wondered if it was due to him being Labour, but on checking he's actually Tory, so no clue why they won' support it.

I wonder if it's a badly written article and it's not that the UK govt have said they won't support it but rather that they haven't said they will so it is making a generalized point about Private Member's Bills

Even so, if a private member's bill has merit they should support it. I really can't believe that this wasn't banned decades ago (at least).

yes, I agree. I'm just not sure that they won't support it because I think the article is unclear on that.

On November 27th I posted a thread about virginity tests. I hope the private member's bill to ban these  evil tests is passed.
