Yep. They are relying on the housing market to keep the economy partially afloat.
It won't be fun and it won't be pretty when that huge bubble they have created goes pop.

Houses around here are selling like hot cakes, many of them are sold within days of being put on the market. Our next door neighbour's house was put on the market on Tuesday of last week and sold subject to contract by the end of the week.

Given the stamp duty holiday that is both not surprising and illustrative of the problem. While the holiday may well be extended until it is there will be an increasing frenzy.
