I do not think that this is necessarily a bad idea. BBC4 is already refining its skills by subjecting us to multiple repeats of Top of the Pops on Fridays.

I have read somewhere that the Rupert Davies Maigret programmes were archived. I would love to see some of those. I hope that they continue providing us with foreign language detective series on Saturday nights (but, please, not always set in Scicily).
