This story is about the UK govt's new press facility, meant for daily briefings not just Covid but that idea has been shelfed. No thought was given to disabled access. Little attempt has been made to have sign language at the briefings. It's endemic in planning but you would think a govt committed to improving the lives of those with disabilities would perform a bit better than this.

I was astonished that there was nobody signing for the deaf at the UK briefings (not that I watched very many) compared to the briefings by the Scottish government, who have had signing for the deaf from the very start of these briefings, and I think the Welsh government also have signing for the deaf: it's almost as if the Tory government don't really care!

Talking of which, the Tories and SLAB seem unable to print their Scottish manifestos in braille or large print, whilst SNP, Lib Dems and even - heaven help us - George Galloway - have managed some or all of theirs in both formats, and SNP, Greens and LibDems have BSL youtube channells.
