So, the National Health Service has been granted the George Cross.

Our perspicacious prime minister clearly thinks that this will add value to a much-admired health service - and thus enable him to make even more money when he sells it off.

There isn't going to be a shit storm in autumn/winter (assuming you mean a COVID19 shit storm). If there's going to be one, it'll be in the next month or two.
