Hi everyone,
Here is a BBC article about the mysterious crop circles. They seem to be found more in England than any where else.

Some of you might have actually seem some of these circles.
Any views?

They are fascinating and some of them very intricate.
I've always thought they are man made but it's the "how do they do that?" aspect that is really intriguing. Presumably done at night with very little light to help them, it is quite a feat.
This article perhaps sums it up best - collective public art.

It also points to several factors that would suggest mere mortals are involved, such as proximity to roads.

I saw this phenomenon once many years ago. I am of the opinion they are done by very talented humans probably at night.

The people that make them are very skilled.

For anyone gullible enough to think they were made by other than human beings just like us, I advise referring to the GH website where, on the Paranormal and Supernatural board, they will be able to read hundreds of claims that they could not have been made by human beings just like us!!
Mind you, the subject doesn't seem to have come up last year or this, and the reasons would appear to be fairly obvious.
In more recent years, computer designs must have helped a great deal, I think!

If you think I'm going anywhere near a Graham Hancock site, think again. I value my blood pressure.

All you have to do is relax and folow my posts!!

During the height of the craze, I always used to say that I believed that crop circles were made by intelligent beings.
Certainly, more intelligent beings than the ones who think it was aliens.

All that is very well....but why has no one ever captured the culprits (or artists if you want) in the act? With mobile phones it should be simple enough to click a photo somewhere around the world. Why should it still be a 'mystery' after all these decades?
And its not as if it happens in far away areas or in remote jungles. Its all in places with homes nearby. No one hears a thing. No one sees people bringing in heavy machinery. No one sees any lights while it is being done.

Joined that forum briefly, but decided it wasn't for me.

It is a business! Farmers collect money when people come to see; microlight pilots get paid for the aerial photos taken - in daylight and with prior notice; calendar makers always used to have an annual new calendar which needed to be pre-arranged; this would all go by the board as soon as a film or a clear demonstration was given, hey presto, money gained disappears!
The creators are artists - no question about that -I wish they would step up and take the credit for their work, but then again, people like what appears to be a mystery.

How do you know they haven't?

Crop circles tend to be made in the dark.

It isn't a mystery. Crop circles are made by humans.
And its not as if it happens in far away areas or in remote jungles.
No, indeed. It always happens in locations that are easy for humans to get to. Why is that do you think?
No one sees people bringing in heavy machinery. No one sees any lights while it is being done.
How hard do you think it is to make a crop circle. All you need is a board with some string tied to it and a rope to measure radii.

A friend of mine co authored a book on the subject, but nowadays we don't move in the same circles.

They don't require heavy machinery! People have been filmed demonstrating making them with a board and a length of rope used to walk flatten the corn at night with just head torches.
