Seeing reports tonight that Babylon 5 is getting remade, with J Michael Straczynski (the original showrunner) at the helm. I loved the original, one of the earliest series-long arc television formats I can remember. I hope the new version does the original justice.

Surely a retelling of the original arc won't work?
Either a continuation with asn enhanced 'Rangers' sub-plot, or something entirely different set after the demolition of the station.

Apparently not a beat-for-beat retelling of the original - not sure how different you can make the background of the Vorlons and the Shadows, for instance, without making it no longer B5 - but in the spirit of the original... I've not seen much from Straczynski himself on his plans for it, but he's a good storyteller wherever he goes so I'm hopeful.
I was looking up today how few of the original cast are still around to possibly make a cameo, and it's a sadly short list.
