Wonderful actor - loved his films.

Brilliant scene in "In the Heat of the Night" when Sidney Poitier as Virgil Tibbs slaps the white plantation owner.

Sad to hear of his death, but what a wonderful life this great actor led. For me, it was the tense and nuanced relationship between Poitier and Steiger in  "In the Heat of the Night" which I found most fascinating.
