Bamber Gascoigne. Documentary maker, quiz show host and actor has passed on. He presented and wrote The Christians a documentary series at the end of the seventies.

Trying to avoid terminal boredom I was watching the 2021/2022 series of U C when the notification of his passing was flashed up.

Immortalised by the Young Ones episode: Bambi. I don't think he actually liked it.

Not a bad read, though a wee bit short on the second and third centuries.
He contributed to 'The Lion history of Christianity", a weighty tome yet still a good reference book.
