Not surprising, given his age, but sad. He was a lovely and much-loved bloke.

He was the best Jackanory story-teller ever.
-
A gentle man, and a gentleman.
Great memories of the Mortimer and Wombles readings on Jackanory, and two roles in the Doctor Who Whoniverse.
A sad loss, if not unexpected.
-
Sad but he was a good age. Our children enjoyed the Wombles when they were small.
-
Jackanory was a marvellous thing, Cribbins a wonderful presenter.
