I found the story about the alleged venomous spider crabs (https://news.sky.com/story/thousands-of-poisonous-crabs-swarm-st-ives-beaches-in-cornwall-12666795) on the Sky News web site.
Just before the text of the story there is a link that is beautifully ironic that says "why you can trust Sky News". The reason it is ironic is that there is no such thing as a venomous spider crab. That factoid got in because somebody googled "spider crab" and got hits for the crab spider, which is venomous (but not dangerous to humans).
