The Associates/Billy MacKenzie, SAHB, John Martyn, Orange Juice/Edwyn Collins, Aztec Camera/Roddy Frame, Stealers Wheel/Gerry Rafferty, Incredible String Band, Jack Bruce, Friends Again/Love and Money/James Grant.
Wouldn't have Runrig in top 25. Amy McDonald, really?

Agree with SAHB, Edwyn, Aztec Camera, Gerry Rafferty, Jack Bruce.
I would add Paolo Nutini, Eddie Reader, Lonnie Donegan, Sons and Daughters, Gerry Cinnamon, Frankie Miller, Stone the Crows

Wolfstone, Karine Polwart, Gaughan....no, don't go down the folk rout, even though they've sold more recordings...as have Jimmy Shand and Robin Hall and Jimmy MacGregor. Just saying.

So triggered by this had to do my own numbering elsewhere.
So number 1 in my Scottish artists/bands on a purely personal approach is John Martyn. Solid Air is often my favourite album - at that stage he was untouchable. I saw him play 3 times. Once golden, others drugged. He could still play and sing like a fairy child.

Who can be my number two.
Number one was easy, but you?
There's quite a lot to do
But I smile when I feel blue (nile)
Paul Buchanan's voice sings my interior monologue. Rhapsody in black and white.
