I did think about putting this on the trans thread since standing up for women's sex based spaces has become for many definitionally 'anti-trans rights' but I think this interview and Rowling's action in helping to set up Beira's Place needs to be seen as a re-emphasis of the need for women's rights and spaces. Something that too many on the centre, left, and right have been opposed to for a variety of different misogynist approaches. She has some fabulous women involved in this - Rhona Hotchkiss, Johann Lamont, Margaret McCartney, Susan Smith, and the awesome Isabelle Kerr.

But there will be no report of the shutting up of women in the Edinburgh University Student Paper because suppressing news of such suppression is fine
