Very sad. I wasn't a fan, but he seemed to be a lovely bloke.

A lovely bloke indeed, and he knew a damn sight more about classical music than Lorna Clarke  (q.v.)

Strangely I met Les Dawson but never Paul O'Grady.

Dawson was lovely. I think whoever posted that piece quoted by NS  has no idea about humour or indeed about the man himself.

To me, they were both very funny men although in quite different ways.

O'Grady was also political, and not just on gay issues, his dislike of Conservative administrations shone through.

I'll miss him.
