Will be interesting to see how this pans out. I suppose it rrglects upon the perceived importance of local elections that they were used as a trial. I am unconvinced that this type of blanket legislation/regulation is ever well implemented in terms of informing people.

Jacob Rees Mogg admits to trying to gerrymander the elections and it being screwed up. Couldn't happen to a more deserving lying prick.

He's just fishing for excuses for the poor Tory vote. I'd wait for a proper study on the impact rather than take anything he says at face value.

I think you miss the point that the oh so virtuous Mogg is saying it was a deliberate attempt to cheat.

So after Rees Moggies admission of gerrymandering by the government what did the Mail headline read today:

Of course it did.

Really?
"We didn't lose because we are unpopular. We lost because we tried to rig the election but were so incompetent we accidentally rigged it the wrong way."
He'd have done better to keep his mouth shut.

Difficult to dig further into that because you've only posted a screenshot, but it looks like she wasn't allowed to vote because she wouldn't take her mask off for even for a second. I'm not sure how much sympathy I've got.

No. I think Mogg understands and uses the fact that stupidity, lying, cheating and corruption are now "priced in" - the electorate think it applies to all parties and will vote for whoever offers a tax deal or benefits that benefit them, individually, the most.
