Title: The Beastly Burger

I'm struggling to see why this would ever have been successful.

Why? It's just a fancy delivery food chain.

Because it's hard to quality control. And the responsibility for that is unclear.

Ah, so if they had a competent company running it, it might have been successful.

It is possible to do proper quality control on a nationwide basis: I can walk into any McDonalds in the UK and the food will be the same and most of them aren't even run by McDonalds directly; they are franchisees.

Same applies to Burger King and Five Guys and many other successful chains.

But the use of the franchises is clear. Here you have an influencer who has no control, and a company that is hardly transparent. Add to that that it is the influencer's brand that is important but he has no way of dealing with this other than what looks like a very difficult lawsuit.

But you said you are struggling to see why this would ever be successful. If you do it properly, it pretty obviously can be successful as demonstrated by many successful burger chains.

Mistakes were clearly made on this occasion that doomed the enterprise but they are not universal.
