When I was on X, I rarely blocked as I preferred the idea of people shouting into a void by muting them but I think this is a mistake.

Apparently it contravenes the rules of App stores so not sure if it isn't just Musk shooting his mouth off without thinking.
Not often I quote The Sun!:

I have never blocked or muted anybody but even if I did, I wouldn't mind them being able to see what I wrote. I sort of agree with him here. The blockee not being able to see your posts doesn't really make much sense.

I know a number of people who have been stalked and doxxed on X who would disagree with you.

X will soon be EX, if EM mucks about with it much more.

You do know you can get around being blocked simply by not logging in or by making a new account?
Never put personal details on a public forum, if you want to keep them private.

Never put personal details on a public forum, if you want to keep them private.
If you're not logged on, then you wouldn't be able to post a reply. Yes, you can set up a new logon but that can also be blocked, and doing so makes it more likely that the person doing it is banned.
The people I know who were doxxed were not doxxed by their putting public details on X or other public forums.

You were talking about stalking and doxxing. Why would you need to post a reply?
Yes, you can set up a new logon but that can also be blocked,
But if the login was only created for the purpose of gleaning personal info for doxxing or stalking, what would the malicious actor care? How would the person being stalked belonged to the same person?
and doing so makes it more likely that the person doing it is banned.
Defeatable by creating a new account.

If they weren't doxxed through Twitter, banning or blocking them on Twitter would not have helped.
