I'm finding this diffiuclt to understand. Surely, aside from the sexual harrassment which is bad enough on it's own, there is a risk to the patient. A prod from a penis isn't exactly going to help you maintain your grip on a scalpel.

I too am finding it hard to understand.

What about the other people in the operating theatre - theatre nurses, other surgeons, anaesthetists?

Are they all complicit?

I think it depends. In some of the cases, given the article, it would seem yes. In others, I would guess it wouldn't be completely obvious.
