The problem is that they are both not at the peak of their cognitive abilities. Or in your vernacular, they are both somewhat doolally.

It is shocking to me that a nation like the USA cannot give its voters a choice between competent candidates.

However, I realise I am in a somewhat compromised situation sitting in a glasshouse.

Seems to be the case for a lot of countries including my own.
