It's terrifying for English club rugby that all of these clubs are going out of business. I don't think this is the last we'll see either. A lot of clubs are dependent on a  single benefactor and would go the same way if these benefactors lost interest for whatever reason.

It doesn't seem as if the RFU have done anything since the start of this.
