Presumably theyvwent with the charges thst were easier to prove, and given they were successful there's probably no significant benefit to another trial. Overall impressively quick.

Apparently it's normal, in cases like this not to bother with the second trial. The only reason they might have proceeded is because of the campaign finance violations.
