As so often this feels like closing the mouldy stable door way too late. I'm left with the thought whether the general principle of accepting free market economics by the Tory party is in part to blame for this tragedy. This is, like the Post Office scandal, something they are reacting to because they think they should be seen reacting to.
Note I think that's there a perfectly sensible Tory way of thinling that would balance the rights of landlords and tenants to prevent this but that requires politicians who think beyond soundbites and mantras.
