This may deserve a thread of its own but it's difficult to separate much of the homophobia of the gender movement from where Pride is now. This is a good article in terms of covering a lot of areas where there has been a lot of misinformation. I'd be interested in Aruntraveller's take on this given previous comment on Pride.

That is quite a lot to unpack!
When I have more time I'll try a longer response, in the meantime, I've given up on going to Pride.
Several reasons - I feel too old. There is too much noise (see thread elsewhere on noise in sport!)
I don't feel Pride in anyway resembles what it was - is that a good thing or a bad thing - I don't know, but it doesn't reflect how I think about Pride or as we used to call it in simpler times, gay pride. The commercialisation identified is a huge problem for me. The feeling that the banks and Mr Sainsbury adorn their windows and aisles with flags in an effort to make more money rather than show any true support haunts my thoughts.
And the clash of extreme Trans ideology with traditional gay rights further alienates me from the celebration.

The lazy commercialisation of big companies where they don't change the flags in Arab countries is almost laughable.

There's nothing lazy about it. I think the word you really want is "cynical".

You're right it is cynical. I also think though that it is lazy since it is so obvious, and they don't care.
ETA - there's surely always something lazy about cynicism?
