I'm interested because it may have impacts on how they behave to each other when anything happens from the police investigation.

I'm not - because the marital issues of two people that I personally don't know have absolutely nothing to do with me.

And in the context of a police investigation the fact that they were married, but have now split up, should have absolutely no bearing on that investigation.

Well, it depends on how acrimonious the split is. I think there is now more chance of trying to stab each other in the back.

Sure - if you are a fan of pop-corn and soap operas. But otherwise, it simply isn't any of our business.

Again I'm interested because of how it effects how I evaluate what they say about each other in the investigation and any case that arises out of it.

No it isn't any of our business but I was just pointing out how it might have a bearing on any investigation. i.e. one is more likely to rat the other out if there are any bodies buried.

As they are both under investigation wouldn't that amount to a circular firing squad.

One could "do a deal" like they do in American police procedurals.
