The true face of Ukip

When it was that silly woman at Lewisham College tweeting "Kill all white men" everybody (barring the Independent) condemned her. Now that kind of thing is just a "joke".

Wankers.

Well it was just a joke - a stupid one for a councillor to make in public, but a joke nonetheless.

Probably a joke, I can't imagine anyone would say that seriously, but in poor taste.  An elected councillor should know better than to joke about controversial subjects, as jeremy says.  People like us, on here for example, can say something off the cuff, then say sorry, didn't mean it, joke gone too far etc, and there are no repercussions but in public life every P and Q has to be watched.

Hope I don't bump into him in Sainsbury's -  I don't say that seriously because I know he wouldn't kill me - he looks average and I doubt I'd recognise him.  I didn't know 'Cray Valley West' was so near, would have thought it was Bexley rather than Bromley.

I don't think that the family of Jo Cox will find it very funny,

FYI St Paul's Cray, and St Mary Cray, are currently within the remit of Bromley Council, although historically they formed part of the former Orpington Council & they are usually  identified with that town rather than with Bromley. Footscray is within Bexley Borough, North Cray is I think within the Dartford Borough.

Reply to your one-before-last post:  I hadn't thought of that Humph but, no, they wouldn't.  I hope they don't hear of it.

I've tried looking up Terry Nathan but can't find out much about him, even on the Bromley Council website.

---------------
Just read your 'next' post.  It was the 'Cray' that made me think of Sidcup and therefore, Bexley.
I remember when Orpington was firmly Liberal (before Lib. Dems.)!  I looked it up on map and Mr Nathan's ward comes as close as parts of Chislehurst.

I can remember when Sidcup & Chislehurst was a separate borough (there was one sign on a lampost on the A20 near the Sidcup by pass which stood for years after the boundaries were changed). More depressingly I can remember when Sidcup was a nice town to live, before Bexley Council was taken over by money grabbing chavs).

Hee hee, Sidcup is terminally boring imo.  Endless tree lined avenues, all very neat.  Then rather disreputable at the other (Footscray) end.  Come to think of it, the Blackfen end is not very pleasant, we lived there in a tiny two-bed terrace when we got married and I hated it. I can imagine UKIP has a lot of fans around there. My son lives off Sidcup High Street, rolls out of bed into a cafe for brunch or into Waitrose for shopping when he is in England.  It's handy for him and the road he lives in is small, quiet and private.

I didn't know Sid & Chis used to be a separate borough, must be why Chis & Sid school is so called.
--------
Terry Nathan is elusive in the sense that there isn't much about him on the web.  All I found was this:
http://cds.bromley.gov.uk/mgUserInfo.aspx?UID=50000343
There is more info about the other councillors in his ward.
Cray Valley West had 423 cases of violent cream in the last year.  I know, I'm a mine of useless information.

Neither do I. That's one of the reasons why it was stupid to make it in public.
