Silence-the noise that enables us
To hear a watch ticking.
Or maybe if that noise silence
Lives up to its name,
You can hear your heart thumping.
'Listen' is the magic word of silence.
Noise knocks out silence.
But when noise dies
Silence regains consciousness.
When we die we return to silence
As we were before we first
Made a noise.

Sometimes I wish my first word was 'quote,' so that on my death bed, my last words could be 'end quote.'

I found this on a weird meander starting with checking Adam Peaty's odds for SPOTY. It's very powerful and starts from an odd place to make an excellent point. Very NSFW.
