I understand what you're saying Nearly. A marriage is a very private personal matter to be shared with family and near, dear friends. Harry and Meghan 'had' to go through this but privately I wonder if they would have loved a quiet far more discreet affair.

Littleroses, yes the dress was lovely - the beauty of simplicity, and suited Meghan's personality very well. A most stunning tiara too, the nicest I've seen yet. Think someone said it originally belonged to Queen Mary.

Have to add..... Serena Williams looked just wonderful!

A significant amount of my opposition to the monarchy is based on the weirdness it forces upon those who are part of the charade.

Yes, it's as though "those who are part of the charade" are really shackled - and for life. Quite frightening.

What a wonderful wedding! I was at work for most of it but had it on in my office and only a couple of people came in to see me - who were equally interested.

Beautiful day, marvellous music and singing, dress was so elegant; I felt as though I was there. Nothing boring about any of it.

A truly joyous occasion. Harry was quite right to want to share his wedding, it worked.

So impressed with Sheku Kanneh-Mason. I had a good cry.

Such a lovely couple, I really hope they are happy.

David Beckham looked so much more at ease this time, but Mrs B looked positively murderous.

There was a ‘no politicians’ rule, which may explain the presence of John Major.

Ok, I found it genuinely touching to see two people so very much in love, and I think that there was a big message sent about diversity and acceptance. I just can’t be arsed to be cynical about it when actually I found it moving - which took me totally by surprise. And my girls had the same experience, having been even more cynical than me before it started.

Yes, I was in a joking mood beforehand but was emotionally floored by the whole thing. It was so different to anything I had expected and quite wonderful. Wish I could see it all again (well I can I suppose, already watched the bits I missed).
I bet they are all having a great time this evening, looking back on the day as a great success.

Meghan's mother was so moved at seeing her daughter looking so beautiful - and at the wonderful music and singing. A very dignified lady.

Agree with SP about Serena Williams, she looked marvellous. So did everyone else, quite impressive.

Couldn't work out why John & Norma Major were there, glad not to be alone in wondering that. I can only assume he&or she is involved in a charity that Prince Harry sponsors.

Having previously not really understood why so many members of the public wanted to virtually camp out in the streets of Windsor, they all had such a good time, I now  wish I'd been there! Yet I feel as though I was there which was what the couple wanted. Prince Harry certainly is a popular chap.

Well there you go. I just did a google and John Major was appointed guardian to William and Harry after Diana’s death in order to look after their financial and administrative interests with regard to her estate until they came of age.
