It does seem a bit ridiculous to stop completely unrelated companies using the word Boss in this way, so good on

If you want an example of a really dumb trademark claim, there is a TV programme in India called Dance India Dance or DID for short.
Yes, they issued take down notices to Google for artcicles with "did" in the title.

I'm going to change my name by deed poll to "And But", so that I can sue anyone who uses "and" or "but" in a sentence for copyright infringement. This time next year, I'll be a millionaire.
