No sex, please, I may just be getting old
« on: December 27, 2023, 11:57:32 AM »
Of late, I find myself viewing sex scenes in drama, even relatively minor ones, and asking 'Is that really necessary?' And most of the time, the answer seems to me, no. Am I just getting old?

Yes, you are, but I don't think you need to be in or approaching your dotage to find unnecessary sex distasteful. I remember back in the late 70s, when I were nobbut a lad, finding the sexual sub-plot in the BBC WW2 drama series 'Danger UXB' annoyingly irrelevant, and I was no prude.
"That bloke over there, out of Ultravox, is really childish."
"Him? Midge Ure?"
"Yes, very."

More importantly Danger UXB was ITV.

You shouldn’t have been surprised as it was all in the title “Danger Unexposed Buttocks”
