It was all a bit performative, I suppose - and politics seems to be becoming that, these days, following a less than desirable American path - but I was fundamentally not opposed to the principle until this bit:
"the same with bike theft, phone theft, tool theft, shoplifting, drugs in town centres, weird Turkish barber shops".
Now the various forms of theft I can see... but where the hell does he think he's going when he drops into 'Turkish barber shops' in that list?
