As far as I'm concerned the gender of the person concerned is irrelevant; it was someone in power 'jokingly' putting down someone else because they didn't like what they were doing. I'm not surprised that she was laughing - plenty of people try to laugh through horrible situations like that.

As an aside, David Moyes and professional competence do not belong together these days.

I don't think that an employer should condone an employee threatening someone like that whilst at work. Its not PC gone mad in my view as some seem to think.

The worrying aspect of that is the implication that it is 'PC gone mad' whenever someone gets away with abusing a woman. It's hard for females to get work in sports journalism and to be taken seriously by far too many. That aside, it wouldn't be ok to say to a man either - it's not just 'banter', it's bullying.

Have you heard the recording? It really was just a bit of light hearted banter. The reporter at whom it was directed hasn't complained. At worst he deserves a slap (on the wrist).

Yes I heard it. It made me uncomfortable - passive aggression aimed at a junior.

But yeah, his results as a manager are what will get him the sack - I guess Sunderland haven't sacked him already because of the cost of personalising another set of kit.

I've laughed off passive aggressive bullying because complaining would make things worse. I think many people have.
