A Dead Thread?
« on: May 17, 2019, 06:26:36 AM »
Might I suggest a single, pinned thread for people to mention clog-poppers, to avoid the multiplication of "Fred Bloggs dead"-type threads? On another forum, we had one called "The Dead Thread". When it moved to a new platform, the new version was (and is) called "Clog-poppers".
I came to realise that every time we recognise something human in creatures, we are also recognising something creaturely in ourselves. That is central to the rejection of human supremacism as the pernicious doctrine it is.

Possibly, although in some cases a separate thread might be thought appropriate. As an example when the Queen falls off her perch.
If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them. - God is Love.

Given we are not overrun with threads, this seems a pointless and naff approach.

Quite - it wouldn't preclude separate threads for major mortal-coil-off-shufflings, such as Madge, or a prime minister or president snuffing it while in office.

Quite a good idea. The only thing is that, sometimes, the discussion around a recently dead person get quite involved. In such situations, we'd probably need to split the thread.
