The Rime of the Ancient Mariner.
« on: April 24, 2020, 04:47:01 PM »
I first read this when I was about 14 and have never really stopped.

The Guardian 'Big Reads' have produced this - a sectional reading using various narrators. The link to the first is below, read by Jeremy Irons. The '>' on the line above the text of the poem moves to the next reading, and so on with interesting info included.

Fellow fans of the poem should enjoy this.

Great. I remember learning that by heart when I was at school, loved it. I used to say it in a deep, (what I thoughtof as) sailor-y voice hoping that listeners could imagine one of three with a long greybeard and glittering eye, being stopped and startled by a strange man. Well I was only 12 :-).

Like Jeremy Irons, good voice.
