What the Roman Emperors may have looked like

Interesting stuff but sort of emphasises as you read through it that that as career ambitions go being Emperor was not exactly likely to be in it for the long term.

Interesting. Pity it doesn't go as far as Galerius, who died of galloping knob-rot in the fourth century.
I came to realise that every time we recognise something human in creatures, we are also recognising something creaturely in ourselves. That is central to the rejection of human supremacism as the pernicious doctrine it is.

Interesting. Pity it doesn't go as far as Galerius, who died of galloping knob-rot in the fourth century.
It takes it up to the splitting of the Empire but it would be interesting to see the rest. Galerius in addition to the 'knob-rot' may have been the last deified emperor.
