It's a hair apparent.
I came to realise that every time we recognise something human in creatures, we are also recognising something creaturely in ourselves. That is central to the rejection of human supremacism as the pernicious doctrine it is.

for those who don't want to follow the link and watch the video, it's about a pub where a customer kicked up a stink and got a free meal because there was a hair on her plate. When the landlord reviewed the CCTV footage, he found that she had put it there herself. If he thinks that makes a difference, I think he's splitting hairs.
