Doge UK, led by an unknown tech entrepreneur are coming to Kent. Part of their remit is apparently to find out about whistle blowing in the county.

The council have so far failed to comment but the whole thing sounds like Reform UK wankfantasy

Wankfantasy it may be.

That does not mean it won't be effective with their core supporters, shoring up the beliefs that GBNews and the like have laid the groundwork for.

Clearly, Farage and co. have learnt the lessons from Trump. Lie often, shout louder, ignore facts.

Just because it sounds ridiculous, indeed it is ridiculous, it would be a huge mistake to dismiss it.

I don't dismiss it at all and this forum stands as testament to the truth that when I use the term wankfantasy I definitely mean it as a bad thing.

I think there are a few takeaways here.

Reform councillors are being relieved of power, there's no evidence of great commit.ent to local affairs and some for the opposite. Reform wish to rule from the centre I.e. Farage himself, They think DOGE was all good, they think they won't be subject to transparency, and above all the famous tech entrepreneur in charge who we don't know yet is seemingly unaware of what happened to the last one who ran a DOGE.
